Backend-first Full Stack Developer·Java/Spring/Angular

I used to sequence data in a lab. Now I turn real problems into software that works.

§ 01

About

// biology → dev

I treat backend the way I once treated the lab: hypothesis, measure, iterate.

Research left me with a reflex I never dropped: I don't trust a result I can't reproduce. In the lab that meant running the measurement again; here it's a log confirming what I think happened, or a test that fails when it should.

I'm backend-first. I can hold my own on the frontend, but I earn my keep a layer below it: in how the data is modelled and in what happens when more load turns up than anyone planned for.

With agentic AI (Claude Code, MCP) I don't improvise. I write the spec myself, edge cases included, and the agent builds against it. The code then goes through the same gates as anything else: tests, review, monitoring. Whatever doesn't clear them gets rewritten.

// where I've worked

Mar 2024 — Present

Full Stack Developer · Inetum

FranceAgriMer · public sector

Two platforms for FranceAgriMer, the French public agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, managing aid, subsidies and payments to farmers across France.

  • New project (Angular / Spring / JPA): end-to-end transactional flows through to production, from data model to controller, complex business logic and schema evolution with Liquibase.
  • Legacy project (JSF / Java 8 / Oracle): maintenance and evolution, JasperReports templates for official documents and 15+ corrective PL/SQL scripts on a production database.
  • Continuous quality with SonarQube, JUnit and Angular component tests, in an international team (~10 people) using Agile.

Science Teacher · Lycée Français d'Alicante

Upper secondary · bilingual French/Spanish

Taught science at upper-secondary level (French baccalauréat) in a bilingual French/Spanish environment, alongside starting at Inetum.

2022 — 2024

Web App Development (DAW) · IES Mare Nostrum

Higher diploma · software development

Two years of full-stack development, databases and deployment. I joined Inetum before finishing the programme.

Research & Biology · UA · CSIC · Luomus (Helsinki)

BSc + 2 MScs · research

Research at CSIC (Doñana Biological Station) and at Luomus, the Finnish Museum of Natural History (Univ. of Helsinki), with an MSc in Biodiversity (Univ. of Valencia). Sequencing data, measuring biodiversity, and 3 publications, one of them in a peer-reviewed journal.

MAMS — My Athlete Monitoring System

Athlete monitoring platform (AMS)

A backend-first platform for semi-pro clubs and academies: daily wellness and RPE check-ins with a body pain map, a coach dashboard with alerts, and data integrity enforced by the database itself (CHECK, UNIQUE, generated columns).

Self-hosted infrastructure

My own infrastructure running in production: 9 LXC containers, Python ETL pipelines (Catapult → PostgreSQL + Power BI), a self-built monitoring dashboard, an LLM-assisted pipeline that classifies invoices and extracts their data, and hands-on incident management with encrypted off-site backups.
