Backend-first Full Stack Developer·Java/Spring/Angular

I used to sequence data in a lab. Now I turn real problems into software that works.

§ 01

About

// biology → dev

I treat backend the way I once treated the lab: hypothesis, measure, iterate.

I started in a lab: sequencing data, measuring biodiversity, defending every conclusion with evidence. Today I design APIs, model databases and deploy containers to production. The method barely changed.

My scientific background (a Biology degree, research, and three peer-reviewed publications) is the lens I bring to development: rigour, critical reading of the data, and the discipline of measuring before deciding.

I'm backend-first. I can hold my own on the frontend, but where I really add value is the backend: architecture, the data model, and a system that holds up in production.

With agentic AI (Claude Code, MCP) I don't improvise: I specify, the agent executes, and the code passes through my verification gates (tests, review, monitoring). I've built a way of working where AI accelerates and evidence decides.

Experience

// where I've worked

Mar 2024 — Present

Full Stack Developer · Inetum

France AgriMer · public sector

Two platforms for the French Ministry France AgriMer, managing aid, subsidies and payments to farmers across France.

  • New project (Angular / Spring / JPA): 5 transactional entities developed end-to-end into production, complex business logic and schema evolution with Liquibase.
  • Legacy project (JSF / Java 8 / Oracle): evolutive maintenance, 10+ JasperReports templates and 15+ corrective PL/SQL scripts on a production database.
  • Continuous quality with SonarQube, JUnit and Angular component tests, in an international team (~10 people) under Agile methodology.

2022 — 2024

Web App Development (DAW) · IES Mare Nostrum

Higher diploma · software development

My formal switch into software: two years of full-stack development, databases and deployment. I joined Inetum before finishing the programme.

2016 — 2022

Research & Biology · Universidad de Alicante

BSc + MSc · research

Research at CSIC (Doñana Biological Station) and the Helsinki Natural History Museum, with an MSc in Biodiversity (Univ. of Valencia). Sequencing data, measuring biodiversity, and 3 peer-reviewed publications. That's where my evidence-based approach to engineering began.

MAMS — My Athlete Monitoring System

Sports-load monitoring SaaS

A backend-first SaaS for semi-pro clubs and academies: multi-level permissions model, schema design with Liquibase, and GPS data ingested through an incremental ETL pipeline with idempotent upserts.

Self-hosted infrastructure

My own infrastructure running in production: 10 LXC containers, Python ETL pipelines (Catapult → PostgreSQL + Power BI), a self-built monitoring dashboard, an LLM-assisted pipeline that classifies invoices and extracts their data, and hands-on incident management with encrypted off-site backups.
